What is an FUE Hair Transplant?
The letters FUE stand for Follicular Unit Extraction
If you want to replace the areas on your scalp that have experienced hair loss, what are you extracting? The answer is easy. The FUE method means that follicles of hair are removed from your own head where the hair growth is thicker, then transplanted to the site where hair is needed. It’s exceedingly successful!
Dr. Cory Torgerson is pleased to offer this state-of-the-art hair transplant technology at his downtown Toronto private surgery centre. It is a natural addition to the facial cosmetic surgery procedures that are already offered to his clients. *Neograft is the only FUE system that has been approved in both Canada and the U.S.*
What is an FUE Hair Transplant?
Tiny incisions are made in the areas of the scalp where the hair is the most dense. In men, this is typically the back or sides of the head. Units of hair follicles (also known as grafts) are removed and then transplanted to the areas of the scalp where hair is thin, bald, or receding. Each graft is extracted with precision to ensure that the dimensions are consistent, and then it is implanted methodically. Under the watchful eye of Dr. Torgerson, the technician will follow the re-growth plan that was designed specifically for you.
NeoGraft offers the least invasive transplant method available on the market. Previously, the strip method was the most common hair transplant procedure. It required the surgical removal of a strip of scalp, with hair attached, from the back of the head. This was painful, required several days of downtime, and resulted in scarring. The NeoGraft surgical device has been designed to quickly remove hair follicles with a spinning motion. There is no need to remove flaps of skin, so this results in minimal linear scarring and minimal downtime. Patients experience very littlediscomfort and are able to resume normal activities the following day. Because this procedure is minimally invasive, there is little risk of complications.
Enough New Growth On Every Bald Area
Hair Transplant Candidates
Hair transplant candidates were only able to have the strip method done a couple of times, as there is only so much skin available on the scalp. With NeoGraft, there is almost no limit to the number of times you undergo treatment. This ensures that you get enough new growth on every bald area.
Even with this state-of-the-art technology, there are many factors that need to be considered to assess whether this procedure would produce the results you desire. The length of time you have been losing hair, age, gender, hair density, and texture are all determining factors.
Booking a private and confidential consultation with Dr. Torgerson at his Yorkville clinic will allow you to discuss your concerns and enable him to properly examine your hair and scalp. If it is determined that you are a good candidate for an FUE NeoGraft hair transplant, it is necessary for you to understand that this procedure cannot produce results overnight. Each graft must heal, take root, and begin to grow again. A realistic understanding of hair regrowth and its timeline benefits all recipients. And a new head of hair is worth waiting for!
